June 1, 2024 Kellar elevated as Martel's successor After six seasons as an assistant coach, Michael Kellar was officially elevated to Illinois Wesleyan University's head baseball coach, following the retirement of longtime bench boss Dennis Martel. Kellar has served as the program's pitching coach for the past six years.

January 18, 2024 Titan's Martel to retire following 2024 season Dennis Martel announced that he will retire after the conclusion of the 2024 season. Hired as Illinois Wesleyan's head baseball coach in 1988 at the age of 23, Martel was the youngest head collegiate baseball coach in the state of Illinois. Ahead of the 2024 season, Martel will coach his final season as the oldest baseball collegiate coach in the state.
