March 16, 2024 Martel notches 900th win in final season Illinois Wesleyan University head baseball coach Dennis Martel recorded his 900th career win, all of which have come at the helm of the Titans, Saturday, March 16, as IWU run-ruled the University of Minnesota Morris, 11-1, in seven innings.
March 15, 2024 Wheaton (Mass.) gets double digit offense on Friday For the second day in a row, the Wheaton (Mass.) Lyons got double digit runs to roll to a win, On Friday, it was Illinois Wesleyan who was their victim. In a Top 10 showdown, it was Denison who finished ahead of Baldwin Wallace.
January 18, 2024 Titan's Martel to retire following 2024 season Dennis Martel announced that he will retire after the conclusion of the 2024 season. Hired as Illinois Wesleyan's head baseball coach in 1988 at the age of 23, Martel was the youngest head collegiate baseball coach in the state of Illinois. Ahead of the 2024 season, Martel will coach his final season as the oldest baseball collegiate coach in the state.
